Burt’s Blue Cheese, the original is made using pasteurised cow’s milk from local dairies.

It has a semi-soft texture which is punctuated with blue veins, giving it a wonderful depth of flavour and character. Each cheese is handmade, this means they aren’t identical and each batch will vary slightly from the next. Gold Award Winner at the International Cheese Show, Nantwich.

Burt’s Blue is the flagship product of Burt’s Cheese, a semi-soft cheese made using pasteurised cow’s milk from local dairies. The cheese develops a mouldy coat which can vary seasonally from darker ‘green blues’ to paler ‘grey blues’. Each cheese is pierced by hand during the ripening process to allow the growth of mild blue veins through the paste.
Tasting Notes: it is soft blue with its yielding texture it avoids the harsher notes sometimes associated with blue cheese, it has a slight saltiness, typical of blue cheese. The younger cheese is more resistant to touch, but as it matures this resistance gives way to a much softer texture.

The cheese is made as a 1Kg (approx.) wheel, or as one of three 180g ‘mini’ truckles.

  • Orders are dispatched from the farm every Wednesday.
  • Orders placed up until 4pm on a Tuesday will be included in the orders dispatched the following day.
  • Orders will be delivered by courier on a next day delivery service.
  • Our cheeses should be refrigerated on arrival, please ensure you are able to receive in person or have made special delivery instructions (otherwise we cannot accept responsibility for the condition of your cheese).
